Becoming a MFT

To become licensed as a MFT, a student completes the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology degree, earns additional hours of supervised clinical experience for a total of 3000 hours, and takes a written and oral examination administered by the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) http://www.bbs.ca.gov/

The Antioch University Los Angeles Clinical Training Office and faculty provide students with all needed information on licensing requirements. Antioch University Los Angeles students' "pass" rates for the MFT written and oral examinations have consistently compared very favorably with those of students from other institutions.
