I’ve been told that no other master's in education program like ours exists! Is that true? Do we really provide our students with the tools and ideas that match a social justice perspective? Do we really provide an uncommon support system both through faculty effort and student cohort practices?
The resounding answer is yes.
Our half time, 6 quarter MAEX program is designed to help you create the changes you want to see in the world. Our faculty are change agents themselves who practice what they teach. Our classes are small, discussion based and student work is evaluated narratively and without grades. Classes are offered one night a week and some Saturdays.
I personally invite you visit us, sit in on a class and experience a bit of what makes Antioch unique. You will find a comfortable and progressive environment that is rich with history and ripe with possibility.

Before I came to Antioch, I never really formulated a true educational
philosophy. What I have learned in my classes at Antioch has helped me
to clarify my ideas about education and as a result, my educational
philosophy has evolved from an amorphous set of ideas floating around
in my head to a clearer, more solidified expression of my educational
beliefs. I think I have learned more in one year at Antioch than I did
during the nine years of teaching in private schools!

When I decided to pursue a career in education I searched for a program
that would challenge me to think critically about the process and
politics of teaching. Some of the other institutions I looked at seemed
to squeeze prospective teachers into a cookie-cutter mold. The
professors at Antioch encouraged me to interact with the teacher
education process. The courses were individually tailored and tapped
into the collective experience of such a diverse group of soon-to-be
teachers. If you are looking for a program that will change the way you
see the world and transform you into someone capable of changing the
world, one student at a time, then look no further. Everything you need
is right here at Antioch.

I have been an educator for 16
years and was looking for an education program where I could hone my
craft and develop myself as an educator that would truly be able teach
children effectively in the real world of teaching. I found that in the
Antioch MAE program.
