Students in the Master of Arts in Education program conduct Action Research Projects as an alternative to a traditional thesis.

In keeping with Antioch’s emphasis on social justice and having roots in social change, the Action Research process utilizes reflective inquiry into personal practices to interlink research, action, and evaluation to improve the quality of education. A cornerstone of Action Research is its goal to involve the participants of each study in change-oriented action.

As a result, Antioch’s Masters in Education program provides students the opportunity to integrate theory and allows students to embark on their futures as educational leaders and change agents.
