BA in Applied Arts and Media

Design your future

You are passionate about your creative talents and they have taken you far. Now you’re ready to challenge yourself and add a new capacity for problem solving, leadership, management, or promoting and communicating your artistic vision. AULA’s Applied Arts and Media major is especially for people with technical skills in art, design and media-focused fields such as makeup design, film editing, or set design, who want to more fully understand the context and business side of their industry.

In this program, you’ll view art from a historical and cultural perspective and explore how the use of art and media has evolved into a platform central to effective marketing and communication. You’ll gain crucial skills and problem solving strategies specific to the arts and media fields that will make you a more effective professional.

What to expect

Among the requirements for this degree is the expectation for students to take a least 9 units (approximately 3 classes) of the following:

  • Performance Art
  • Art, Recycling, and Consumption
  • Portfolio Development I
  • Portfolio Development II
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Interpersonal Communications
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Participatory Media

Community College Scholars Program

Antioch University Los Angeles is proud to announce the Community College Scholars Program, a new scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students transferring from a community college with whom AULA has an articulation agreement. This opportunity is available if you apply to enter one of Antioch’s bachelor’s programs in Fall 2016, Winter 2017, or Spring 2017. If granted a Community College Scholarship, Antioch will waive the tuition for your first 6 units, a savings of up to $4,000. You are eligible for this scholarship if you have earned a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and at least 24 transferable semester units at a qualifying community college.

If you meet the criteria above, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship. Preference will be given to students who have been enrolled in and completed the community college units within the last four years. Click here for more information.
