Yes! We recommend students contact the Office of Financial Aid for complete information on all of the ways you can finance your education. The team in the Financial Aid office can help you to navigate the entire financial aid process, including grants, loans and scholarship opportunities.

Our faculty are committed to support your learning experience. Most are currently in the classroom and utilize their elementary teaching experience to enrich the experience of the course. They pass on their first-hand knowledge and experience, providing an invaluable learning tool for our students.

You can earn your teaching credential in 4 quarters. This will allow you to teach in a public or charter school in grades K-6 and also in adult education. The units you earn are used to determine your salary. Currently, Antioch University Los Angeles teacher credential program offers a 76 quarter unit program, more units than other programs in the area.

A Master's degree helps open doors for new opportunities. The curriculum for this program gives you a systems thinking perspective on educational organizations. The courses we offer will delve into both the theory and practice of organizing, leadership in schools, identifying areas for change and financing, and supporting those changes.

Our graduate student population has come from diverse backgrounds and have found employment in various fields that include community organizer, child advocate, a teacher wanting change in their classroom, school, or district, educational researcher, and faculty member at an Institute of Higher Education.

Antioch University Los Angeles does not assign grades. Classes are assessed with a CR or NC through the use of narrative evaluations. Narrative evaluations have been part of the university for decades - this does away with competition for grades among students. A student who meets the class objectives will earn a CR.

Within the Teacher Credentialing programs it is possible to work during the first 2 quarters. However, you would need to devote 4 days a week to full-time student teaching in the last 2 quarters of the program. Antioch University requires 80 days of full-time student teaching to meet the state requirements. Many of our students are able to hold part-time jobs and Antioch University does offer work study opportunities as well as financial aid.

In the standalone Master of Arts in Education program it is possible to work during the entire program - in fact, most of our students do. The program is considered half-time enrollment and classes are offered one night a week from 4-10 pm and on Saturdays for 3 hours. This gives ample opportunity to hold a full-time position.

APLE Loan is the Assumption Program of Loans for Education. APLE assumes $11,000* in outstanding educational loan balances in return for teaching in a California public school for four(4) consecutive years. Candidates must be employed to teach in a low performing or hard to staff area school. More information on the APLE loan program is available on the official California state website.

AULA offers an uncommon education---a unique, rich learning experience that will enhance your development as an educator. Students move through the program with the same fellow students, called a cohort, and form relationships that last beyond the last class.

Our class size remains small - approximately 10-20 students in a class. This creates a stronger dynamic and allows for more personal attention. Student participation is not only asked for, but encouraged, creating a fuller learning experience. Also, due to small class size, we do not find the need to close classes or put anyone on a wait list.

Students can also expect personal attention from Antioch University Los Angeles faculty and staff.
