Individualized Resources

Areas of Professional Focus

Working with your Academic Advisor (a member of the Core Faculty), you will design a course of study beyond your core course requirements to support your chosen area of professional focus.

Course work in your chosen area of professional focus can include classes from the graduate management curriculum, course work from other graduate programs offered through Antioch University Los Angeles (ie. Psychology, Community Psychology, Education) as well as through other universities, field-based activities and independent learning activities.

The following are just some examples of the areas of professional focus our alumnus and students have chosen to pursue:

Leadership
Innovation & Change
Organization Development
Nonprofit Capacity Building
Community Psychology
Sustainability
Consulting
Arts Management
Human Services
Educational Administration
Human Resources Management
Training & Development
Social Enterprise

Individualized Learning Plan

As a graduate management student, you’ll work closely with your Academic Advisor (a member of the Core Faculty) to chart an individualized learning plan in support of your professional and educational goals, mindful of your chosen area of professional focus.

In our experience, no two students are alike, so presuming a one-size-fits-all degree curriculum doesn’t make a lot of sense. While there are specific courses every graduate management student should have to assure a strong foundation for professional success (core curriculum), you’ll develop an individualized learning plan that includes coursework and experiences aligned with your unique interests and goals (elective courses).

Further, you and your Academic Advisor will collaborate to identify and engage learning experiences outside the classroom that will help you build a bridge between where you are today and where you want to be tomorrow.
