Japanese Approaches to Mindfulness and Mental Health
Shunkoin Temple, Kyoto, Japan

Students gain an understanding of Japanese culture and mental health in a 10-day course by living in a traditional Zen temple setting, learning basic meditation skills, and attending lectures addressing mental health issues by local therapists, as well as field trips and cultural immersion.

The Integration Between Buddhism and Psychology: East Joins West in France
Vajra Yogini Institute, Toulouse, France

This course offers students a unique opportunity to foster global citizenship in a 10-day meditation retreat and seminar in a Tibetan Buddhist spiritual and educational center in Toulouse, France. Students reflect on the joining of a Buddhist view with Western LGBT-affirmative psychology, feminism, humanism, and world-wide social justice.
