Applying For Financial Aid
Eligibility Requirements
Antioch University Los Angeles considers several factors for financial aid eligibility. To qualify, you must:
- Demonstrate financial need through the application process
- Be accepted into a degree or certificate program
- Register at least half-time
- Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
- Not be in default status on previous loans or owe an overpayment on aid
- Be registered with the Selective Service (if male). If you are older than 26, you must have registered by age 25.
Failure to meet eligibility requirements usually results in drastic alteration of Financial Aid awards and possible requirement to refund a Financial Aid award. For more information on eligibility, please email: tpacleb [at] antioch [dot] edu.
Steps To Applying For Financial Aid
All AULA students planning to enroll onto Summer 2010 term or Summer/Fall 2010 semester (and beyond) must complete the Following steps
Step 1. Complete the 2011-12 or 2012-13 AULA Financial Aid Request form, and return to the Financial Aid Office.
Step 2. Complete the 2011-2012 FAFSA with your 2010 tax return at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Antioch University Los Angeles school code is E00554. For attendance in terms after July 1st, please complete the 2012-13 FAFSA using your 2011 IRS tax information.
Step 3. Complete the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) by clicking the “Sign In” button at http://www.StudentLoans.gov. After signing in, you will be prompted to enter your Social Security Number, first two letters of your last name, your date of birth, and your FAFSA PIN. If you don't have a FAFSA PIN you can get one at www.pin.ed.gov.
IMPORTANT: When completing the MPN, make sure to complete the Subsidized/Unsubsidized (this is the regular loan).
Graduate students only: If you are interested in borrowing more money (living expenses, books, etc.), then you need to complete the Direct Loan MPN Grad Plus loan as well.
Undergraduate students only: If you are interested in borrowing more money (living expenses, books, etc.), then you need to complete the MPN for Alternative loan with a private lender. This can be done by contacting your private lender of choice.
Reminder: you will need your FAFSA PIN to complete the Direct Loan Counseling and the Master Promissory Note.
