Charley Lang, MA, MFT, is Director of the BA Psychology Concentration at AULA,
where he develops new course curriculum and teaches a variety of classes including
Human Sexualities, Gay & Lesbian History in Documentary Film, Contemporary Modes
of Counseling, Psychology of Addiction, and Madness in American History & Film.
He is an adjunct professor in the MAP Program and has also taught at USC, UCLA,
Pacific Oaks College, Phillips Graduate Institute and Cal State San Bernardino. He was
for many years Director of the Postmodern Therapy Training Program at the California
Family Counseling Center and mental health supervisor at the AIDS Service Center in
Pasadena. As co-founder of Narrative Couples Center (narrativecouplescenter.com) he
sees private clients and supervises and trains therapists in the many resource-oriented
practices associated with strength-based models of psychotherapy. Always on the
lookout for new and engaging alternative stories, Lang produced and directed several
acclaimed documentary films, including the HBO award-winning Gay Cops: Pride
Behind the Badge.
