Antioch University Los Angeles Counseling Center (AUCC)

Support AUCC

We're here to help. AUCC is staffed by licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and Clinical Psychologists, as well as MFT trainees and interns. We provide specialized counseling services to the West L.A., Venice/Marina del Rey, Culver City and Beach Communities

The Antioch University Los Angeles Counseling Center is a community counseling center operated by Antioch University Los Angeles, a non-profit educational institution fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Antioch University Counseling Center provides psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups; serving adults, adolescents and children. We also offer the Antioch University International Counseling Center, located in West Los Angeles, to address the needs of the international community of greater Los Angeles. And, we are proud to announce the opening of Ways of Being Community Counseling, serving the Lesbian, Gay, Queer, Bisexual, Same-Sex Loving, Transgender, Transsexual, and Fluid Community at the Antioch University Counseling Center, to better address the needs of the Lesbian & Gay population of the Westside and Beach communities by offering counseling for issues such as coming out, identity formation, relationship skills, personal growth, domestic violence, sexual compulsivity, substance abuse and aging.

The AUCC serves as a training site for students and graduates of Antioch University’s Master’s in Clinical Psychology program, as well as students and graduates of other institutions' psychotherapy training programs. Psychotherapy services are offered to the public on a sliding scale, with no limitations on the number of therapy sessions.

The Director of AUCC is Eric J. Day, Ph.D.

AUCC Mission
The Antioch University Counseling Center provides supportive and empowering psychological services that are individualized to meet the needs of children, adolescents, and adults, including couples and families. These high-quality services are affordable and accessible, sensitive to multicultural differences and to gay and lesbian issues.

AUCC Therapists
Staff members include licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) and licensed Psychologists, as well as advanced students working toward licensure under the supervision of licensed practitioners. Therapists use a variety of clinical styles and approaches and bilingual therapists are available in English, Spanish, Japanese, Farsi, Greek, Polish, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Korean, Hebrew and Russian. A radio program in Farsi is also available.

AUCC Fees
Fees are based on a sliding scale and are very reasonable. The Counseling Center is not able to accept Medicare or Medi-Cal payments. A few licensed therapists on staff accept private insurance, but the center does not. The center does provide services for court-mandated clients.
