Why does AULA need an Institute?
Previously, fund-seeking activities such as letters of inquiries, proposals, and receipt of funding have not been organized in way that allowed Antioch University Los Angeles to establish a professional presence in the philanthropic community. The Institute was established, in part, to correct this problem, and to build a positive presence in that community. The Institute will create and maintain an accessible, useable, and up-to-date database that the all AULA community members will want to support. This database will allow all community members to seek information about what activities have transpired in the past related to particularly types of projects, or related to particular funders from the present forward.
What will the AULA Institute do?
The new Antioch University Los Angeles Institute serves many functions, not the least of which is create an idea incubator, project development space, and a home for fundable initiatives that will expand AULA's mission and reach out to the campus and beyond. Through a combination of existing and new programs, and by providing information, service, and guidance, the Institute can help develop new initiatives, support liaison activities with funding organizations, and support proposal writing and project management.
