WorldCat.org : Search for books, DVDs, and videos on a specific topic. All citations found in WorldCat can be directly exported to your RefWorks account. You can request any title you find in WorldCat via WeDeliver!.

Google Scholar : Most of your research should be done in OhioLINK, but if you are stuck, Google Scholar is able to search part of JSTOR, a large database not included in OhioLINK's holdings. Click on "Scholar Preferences" to enable direct export of citation information to your RefWorks account.

American Factfinder : Part of the Census.gov website, American Factfinder can quickly produce demographic and economic data about any city/region/state in the country!

Google Uncle Sam : A great way to search for government information and documents, Google Uncle Sam limits your results to government websites ONLY.

Where to go for Computer Skills Classes

Los Angeles Public Library: The Los Angeles Public Library offers over 340 free computer classes. The assortment of classes is wide: one-on-one instruction, database searching, basics of word processing, internet surfing and survival, the hows and whats of email, webpage construction, and basics of word processing. Some of the classes are offered in Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Once on the page, on the right hand side, look for the box labeled Category and hit the drop down menu. Select computer classes and the page will give you a list of all the computer classes offered at the 74 branches of LAPL. You can also select a list of libraries by the area that you live in or that is most convenient for you in the box titled Location.

Beverly Hills Adult School: Beverly Hills Adult School offers a variety of classes, a small number of them for the computer.

Culver City Senior Center: Free computer classes offered by Culver City.

Culver City Adult School: Culver City Adult School is a for-profit school that offers a variety of computer classes, from basic skills to digital photography to internet wizardry. Classes start at $30.

Emeritus College: Emeritus College is an outreach program for seniors and is affiliated with Santa Monica College. They offer a wide variety of classes, including computer classes.

Venice Skills Center: The Venice Skills Center teaches Career Educational Classes at low cost. They offer basic and intermediary computer skills, particularly those focusing skills that will be required in an office setting.
