Jane Paul is Teaching Faculty at Antioch University Los Angeles, in the Masters in Urban Sustainability program, teaching Fieldwork Planning and Fieldwork Seminars, as well as participating in the curriculum and program development team. Jane is also Teaching Faculty and Head of the BA concentration Urban Community and Environment, creating curriculum and program design.
In addition to work at Antioch University, since 2007 she has been an environmental policy consultant, focused on the green economy and sustainability, with additional expertise in administration and facilitation. Jane works with the non-profit community in Southern California, in order to increase the strength of environmental and economic justice efforts through policy and collaboration in a wide range of sectors, including government, education, labor, philanthropy and community development. She co-authored the Guide to Green, for the Liberty Hill Foundation – a tool to aid local businesses improve their practices. In 2008 and 2009, Jane led Green Economy Initiatives at the Green LA Coalition, a collaboration of organizations focusing on environmental policy and advocacy for the City of Los Angeles and regional institutions and agencies.
A commissioner on the City of Los Angeles Rent Adjustment Commission, Jane was formerly the chair of the City of Los Angeles Green Retrofit and Workforce Development Advisory Council, a representative on the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Change (LARC), a member of the Apollo Alliance Steering Committee, and served on the Good Food Economy and Academic Partnerships workgroups of the Los Angeles Food Policy Council.
Her continuing work includes providing support for community-based campaigns and efforts to build economic stability in Los Angeles, ensure equitable opportunities across all communities, environmental integrity in planning, community voice in legislation, and to reinforce crucial climate change considerations in the creation of a new economy.
Jane received an MA in Urban Planning from the UCLA School of Public Affairs, with an emphasis on community economic development, following twenty years in motion picture industry production, utilizing and developing organizational management skills in communication, human resources, scheduling, large scale project coordination and logistics. She received her BA in Liberal Studies from Antioch University.
