Biography
Daniel Bruzzone, Psy.D. has provided mental health services to individuals, couples and families since 2002.  His work included counseling and psychotherapy as well as psychological testing with children, adolescents and adults, and neuropsychological evaluations for geriatric clients.  The current focus of Daniel's clinical work involves the evaluation of children and adolescents in the Child Protective Services System of Los Angeles County.

Daniel has always found that the sharing of knowledge with others was more exciting to him than acquiring it.  As a result, he has acted in a teaching role for most of his adult life.  Whether as an instructor teaching crew resource management, navigation and maintenance in the military, an instructor for a major insurance carrier or as a professor of psychology, Daniel has tried to balance the need for academic rigor with that of making learning enjoyable.  As such, Daniel focuses on each student’s process of learning and on instilling a desire for him or her to become a life-long learner.

 

An Associate Faculty member within the Child Studies Specialization of the M.A. in Psychology program, Daniel's teaching interests include cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, family and postmodern theories; evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents and adults; treatment of childhood trauma; gerontology; individual therapy, couple therapy and family therapy. Daniel has presented on topics of aging and aging as a matter of diversity as well as differential diagnoses and the value of integrating cognitive-behavioral approaches with psychodynamic and postmodern theory in the treatment of clients.
