I believe that education is a two-fold experience. Teaching is a special calling and learning is a life-long journey. I bring that philosophy into the classroom. I believe in creating a safe place where students can question, experiment, and creatively grow.
I believe that:

  • It is important to instill a love of learning in each and every student;
  • All students have valid opinions;
  • Students can teach their instructors;
  • Students receive the most benefits from their active involvement and engagement in the classroom;
  • Each student can learn the tools of their trade, but choosing the right tool, at the right time is a crucial part of their learning experience
  • Critical thinking skills are paramount in developing and changing paradigms;
  • An instructor should teach current, relevant information that each student can put to practical use;

Students deserve to be treated with respect, and provided with appropriate and accessible learning activities.
