Biography
Jane Paul is an Associate Faculty member at Antioch University Los Angeles, in the new Masters in Urban Sustainability program, teaching Fieldwork Planning and Fieldwork Seminars, and participating in the curriculum and program development team.

Jane is an environmental policy consultant, focused on the green economy and sustainability, with additional expertise in administration and facilitation.  She works with the non-profit community in Southern California, in order to increase the strength of environmental and economic justice efforts through policy and collaboration in a wide range of sectors, including government, education, labor, philanthropy and community development.

Jane led Green Economy Initiatives at the Green LA Coalition.  The Green LA Coalition is comprised of environmental, environmental justice, economic justice and community-based organizations, focusing on environmental policy and advocacy for the City of Los Angeles and regional institutions and agencies.  She concentrated on green business certification, environmentally preferable purchasing, and initiated the Green Jobs Leadership Discussion series in 2008 and 2009. Jane’s work at Green LA included providing support for other campaigns and efforts, to build economic stability in Los Angeles, ensure equitable opportunities across all communities, environmental integrity in planning, and to reinforce crucial climate change considerations in the creation of a new economy.

Jane is the chair of the City of Los Angeles Green Retrofit  and Workforce Development Advisory Council appointed by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, is a member of the Apollo Alliance Steering Committee, and serves on the Good Food Economy workgroup of the Los Angeles Food Policy Council.

Jane received an MA in Urban Planning from the UCLA School of Public Affairs, with an emphasis on community economic development, following twenty years in motion picture industry production, utilizing and developing organizational management skills in communication, human resources, scheduling, large scale project coordination and logistics.  Jane received  her BA in Liberal Studies from Antioch University.
Jane lives in Mar Vista, Los Angeles with her husband, two teenagers, a dog and a vegetable garden.
