Joseph is a highly experienced financial advisor and investment manager at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He has worked as a global investment manager for more than 25 years, and joined the AULA Board of Trustees in September of 2012.
Previously, Joseph spent six years in special situation private equity investment management that focused on start-ups and turnaround of distressed companies.
Joseph served as a liaison for the White House and State Department and the Japanese Delegation at the 1990 Economic Summit of Industrialized Nations hosted in Houston, Texas. In addition, he worked for the White House in Presidential Advance from 1989 to 1991.
Joseph holds an MBA from Northwestern University; an MA from USC, Sol Price School of Public Policy; and a BA from UC Berkeley. His career has taken him to over 40 countries spanning five continents. He has lived in Europe and Asia, and is conversant and literate in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
