Susan is curator of “Collecting Los Angeles” in UCLA Library’s Special Collections and is responsible for making new acquisitions, developing in-house collections, and building partnerships to preserve, interpret, and make accessible UCLA Library materials documenting the remarkable multiplicity of cultures and at-risk hidden histories of the Los Angeles region. She joined AULA’s Board of Trustees in September of 2012.
Previously, she was managing director of “LA as Subject,” an association of approximately 200 archival institutions, hosted by USC Libraries.
Susan’s community service work includes consulting on strategic research and communications projects for philanthropic organizations including the Ford Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and bringing her professional skills to the external affairs operations of several major nonprofits such as the California Endowment, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
Susan is an alumna of Scripps College. She has published fiction and poetry.
