AULA's Statement on the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Antioch University Los Angeles stands in solidarity with the Occupy movement, which challenges structural inequities and calls for an end to national and global social and economic injustice. The University supports, welcomes the opportunity to participate in, and is eager to learn from this movement.

If you have spent time on the AULA website, you might have noticed that the topic of social justice comes up frequently. For decades, Antiochians (Antioch University staff, faculty, and students) have been committed to making  the world a better place for human beings to live, regardless of one’s race, gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, class, or income. With this in mind, it might not be a surprise to see Antioch University Los Angeles’s statement about the Occupy movement, a movement working toward economic justice.

On this website, we would like to engage in further discussion about the movement, the ideas behind it, and the possibility for personal involvement in creating change. We understand that new information is released on the Occupy movement every day (and, in some cases, every hour). Although we can’t update our information quite that quickly, we hope to provide basic materials that might inspire you to go further in your own research and (if you choose) activism. For the most up-to-date information on how to get involved, please visit your local Occupy website - http://occupy.net/
