MA in Psychology & Clinical Psychology programs present Sergio Felipe de Oliveira, MD

The Scientific Basis of Spiritual Approaches in Clinical Practice

Coming directly from Brazil, Dr. Oliveira will present his groundbreaking perspectives into medical, psychological, and spiritual approaches in clinical practice.

Dr. Oliveira is a professor and researcher of Medicine and Spirituality at the Medical School of University of São Paulo (FMUSP), founder of Uniespirito (International University of Spiritual Sciences), clinical director of Casas André Luiz, and founder and clinical director of Pineal Gland Health Institute in São Paulo (Brazil).

At his clinic, patients who do not respond to traditional treatment methods undergo a holistic assessment followed by a transdisciplinary approach which integrates medicine, psychology, spirituality, and community service. His team consists of medical and mental health professionals, mediums, ex-patients and family members.

*This is not a two-part training. You can attend either 4/24 or 4/25

Diane Gehart, PhD is a Professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at California State University, Northridge and has a private practice in Agoura Hills, California. She was endorsed by the American Psychological Association as a DSM-5 trainer and has authored the Cengage monograph, A Practical Introduction to the DSM-5: Implementing the Changes in Clinical Practice. Additionally, she has authored several books including Mastering Competencies in Family Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance in Couple and Family Therapy, and The Complete MFT Care Competency Assessment System, and co-edited Collaborative Therapy: Relationships and Conversations that Make a Difference. The BA Showcase is the premiere BA event of the year. The faculty-nominated student work will cover a wide range of disciplines, themes, and intellectual traditions. Project formats will include multimedia performances, artwork, and lively presentations.

The student presentations demonstrate critical thinking, global citizenship, experiential learning, and community engagement. Current and prospective students gain fresh insight into the coursework and creative environment that AULA offers.

Know someone interested in the BA program? Tell them about our Open House, held the same day. Prospective students can attend the BA Showcase, hear BA core faculty speak about the program, take a tour of campus facilities and classrooms, discuss the application process with representatives from the Admissions Office, and talk to BA students and alumni about the BA program experience.

Breakfast and lunch are provided. Free and open to the public.
