“Adolescent Treatment: From Intervention to Aftercare” @ Antioch University Los Angeles, Room A1000 | Culver City | California | United States

The Addiction Studies Concentration in the Undergraduate Studies Program Presents:

“Adolescent Treatment: From Intervention to Aftercare”

In treatment, adolescents must be approached differently than adults because of their unique developmental issues, contradictions in their values and belief systems, and environmental considerations.

This presentation will discuss the need for comprehensive, clinically-based treatment options for adolescents and their families. Also discussed will be the effectiveness of a multi-modal approach to treating complex issues that relies on a team approach, including family members, previous treatment professionals, teachers, community experts, and a treatment team of clinicians.

Free and all are welcome. An RSVP is required to secure a seat.

RSVP by Tuesday, April 15th to dwilliams8@antioch.edu

Presenter: John D. Lieberman, MA I/O Psych, Director of Operations of Vision Treatment Center

John Lieberman began his career in the field of addiction treatment in 1985. He has held the position of floor supervisor, intake coordinator, youth counselor, crises counselor, intervention specialist, and director of national outreach for two nationally- recognized addiction treatment facilities. John has traveled internationally evaluating adolescent treatment centers and has presented at several national conferences on the topic of adolescent treatment.

DO YOU WANT TO GO FURTHER WITH YOUR CLINICAL TRAINING?

Meet the AUSB PsyD Program Chair, Dr. Juliet Rohde-Brown, a current student and AUSB admissions staff and learn about our rigorous PsyD program based on the practitioner-scholar model. Our students come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds. The PsyD program has two entry tracks for applicants that have either a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

How does a PsyD differ from a PhD? What are the career tracks for psychologists? What is the practitioner-scholar model? What are the clinical requirements? Where are our alumni working? Bring your questions and find out more about AUSB’s PsyD program.
