Antioch College Alumni Board and Antioch University Board of Trustees Continue Discussions
Trustees postpone vote regarding suspension of college operations

YELLOW SPRINGS, OH – October 28, 2007– The Antioch Board of Trustees today postponed a vote to consider lifting the suspension at Antioch College, while agreeing to continue deliberations during this next week after an historic collaboration with the Alumni Board.

The Trustees and the Alumni Board are committed to continued discussions in order to make every effort to successfully resolve any and all remaining issues.

“It was our hope that the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Board would successfully resolve these issues,” said Art Zucker, chairman of the Board of Trustees. “However, we are dealing with very complex, long-standing matters of critical importance and we simply need more time to deliberate. We are negotiating collaboratively, and we are optimistic of a positive resolution in as rapid a manner as possible, but there was not enough time to resolve the issues by the conclusion of this Board meeting.”

Nancy Crow, president of the Alumni Board, called the deliberations “incredibly positive, which portends a good future. We have worked together in an unprecedented manner, and I am hopeful we can continue on this very positive path. I am optimistic, as is our board.”

“Our decision to continue to meet and discuss, having already made much progress is a strong indication of our forward progress,” Chairman Zucker said. “We have reached many positive agreements in recent days, and this newfound collaboration between Trustees and the Alumni Board is gratifying, constructive and considered by all parties as outstanding.”

The Antioch University Los Angeles campus, in addition to the other Antioch University campuses located in Santa Barbara, CA, Ohio, Washington and New England, continue to remain unaffected by these recent developments. Antioch University Los Angeles (AULA) continues normal operations and is currently accepting applications for the 2008 winter quarter within both the graduate and undergraduate programs.
